Phase 1 – Sound Deadening

I followed the template method suggested by CarAudioFabrication and the hole punch method suggested by SoundSkins. It took a great deal of searching, but I found a great 1-inch punch on Amazon.

Phase 2 – Head Unit Install

Parts list

  • Pioneer AVIC-W8400NEX
  • iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR
  • iDatalink HRN-RR-T02
  • iDatalink ACC-SAT-TO2
  • Metra 99-8252
  • SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner

Steps

  • Flash iDatalink Maestro
  • Solder bullet connectors
  • Run front camera
  • Run OBD plug
  • Run RCAs and label them (red is rear, green is front, yellow is sub)
  • Run microphone
  • Run dash speaker wire
  • Run center channel speaker wire
  • Update Pioneer firmware

Parking brake bypass

  • A microbypass is not needed.
  • Connect long, light green wire to ground.
  • With head unit off, press and hold bottom left screen until “set on” is displayed. This places the head unit in bench test mode.

Phase 3 – Power Upgrade

  • Odyssey AGM battery
  • Ellis Precision battery tie-down
  • Big three cable upgrade
  • Knukonceptz Ultimate battery terminals
  • Stinger 0 gauge power wire
  • Stinger pg34 bushing/grommet/gland
  • High-output alternator (may require K080939HD v-belt)

Phase 4 – Amplifier Install
